.FORECAST UPDATE...
Issued at 904 AM EDT Mon Sep 7 2026

Surface analysis this morning shows a large high pressure system
over the eastern Great Lakes, providing easterly surface flow to
Central Indiana. Aloft, strong ridging was in place over the upper
midwest, resulting in NW flow across Indiana. Water Vapor imagery
shows subsidence in place across Indiana and OH. Dew points were
around 60, and other than some high cloud streaming across the
southwest parts of Indiana, skies were mostly clear.

No significant changes to this forecast. The high pressure to the
northeast will continue to dominate our weather this afternoon,
providing comfortable E-NE winds. Forecast soundings through the day
show a dry column with a moderate mid level inversion that will
prevent any CU development. Thus a mostly sunny day is expected with
highs in the low to mid 80s.

.DISCUSSION (Today through Sunday)...
Issued at 316 AM EDT Mon Sep 7 2026

Dry and near normal conditions again today as subsidence and
northerly flow will continue to influence the weather across the
area. Surface flow will start to shift to out of the south Tuesday
as the upper high returns to the area, and bringing with it a return
of above normal temperatures. Luckily lower dew points are expected
with this brief return of than was seen last week, so heat indices
should largely stay below to near 100.

The upper ridging will start to break down midweek while troughing
over Canada and the northern portion of the CONUS sag into the Great
Lakes region. A surface cold front associated with the troughing
will bring chances for rain and storms late Wednesday through
Thursday. At this time can`t rule out isolated damaging winds
with the line of storms, but confidence is low at this time.

Temperatures will again drop back down to near normal behind the
front. Models are showing additional waves moving through for the
weekend and into early next week which could bring fluctuating
temperatures and periodic chances for rain. Timing and details
remain unclear at this time however.

.AVIATION (12Z TAF Issuance)...

Impacts:

- Northeasterly gusts up to 20kts this afternoon

Discussion:

VFR conditions expected through the TAF period with mostly clear
skies other than passing thin cirrus. Northeasterly winds will
strengthen through the morning as the boundary layer begins to
deepen. Peak gusts will be around 20kts with winds dropping back
closer to 5-10kts towards sunset.

Can`t completely rule out the chance for fog at the outlying sites
early tomorrow morning, but confidence is not high enough to include
at this time.
